Bendix/King KLN89 GPS for TRIU Kingair B200 repaint
Aircraft Modification for Fly!II Aircraft
Version 1.0, February 25, 2002
Adaptation by Grant Millikan of Bosco Leal Jr.'s original modification

-------------------------

FILE DESCRIPTION:
I have adapted Bosco Leal's original files for TRI's default Aurora B200 to my N740J, Aurora B200 repaint so the aircraft can now be equipped with the Bendix/King KLN89 GPS. Thanks goes to Bosco Leal for originally providing this modification.

INSTALLATION:
Extract all files, except this readme, to your Fly!II ROOT folder. If you set the ZIP to download in this root directory, the zip files should automatically extract to the proper directory structure inside your Fly!II folder. Otherwise just manually extract the files and place in the similar folders in the FLY!II root directory (ART,DATA,WORLD folders). Make sure SearchPodFilesFirst is set to 0 in fly.ini (found in the System folder), otherwise this modification won't work.

REQUIREMENTS:
The files of this modification are specifically for my repaint of the Kingair (Aurora), call sign N740J. You must have FLY!II patched to the latest version.

REMOVAL
Remove the corresponding files from the ART, DATA,and WORLD folders in the FLY!II root directory.

LEGAL STUFF
This modification is freeware and may be distributed freely so long as this readme.txt file accompanies it. Copyright for this aircraft and modified files is owned by TRI, therefore, no commercial use of these files is permitted. No file may be used in any commercial or other published package without express written permission of the original author(s), TRI.

DISCLAIMER
This file carries no warranty or guarantee, therefore, use of this file is entirely at the user's own risk. I will not accept responsibility for any damages using these files may cause. Title:

Cockpit Centerpost Add-on Graphics for use with TRI - Fly !II ( Update 1 ) 6-9-02

=================================================================================
Purpose :

The files included in this add-on create a "tighter cockpit feel"
as one views the outside world from the pilot's ( and copilot's) perspective.
Hopefully it will add to the "cabin experience" ... and complements the other
cockpit views. The aircraft affected are Fly II -Peregrine, Sahara, Kodiak,
Pilatus and Aurora. Support for the PEREGRINE_AVSIM.pod aircraft has been added.
As a bonus ... the "Weather Radar" functions on the Peregrine have been activated
( to work as in other Fly II aircraft ).

=================================================================================
Requirements:

1. TRI - Fly!II patched to build number 2.1.230 or higher.

2. This has only been tested on a PC/Windows environment.

=================================================================================
Installation:

1. Backup and remove any *.PNL files that may be present in the
"Drive Letter:...\Fly! II\data" folder.

2. Extract the *.PNL files included in cockpitpost.zip into the
"Drive Letter: ...\Fly! II\data" folder.

3. Extract the *.ACT and *.PBM files included in cockpitpost.zip
into the "Drive Letter: ...\Fly! II\Art" folder.

4. Start Fly II and go to one of the aircraft mentioned above ...
Remember that you can use the "]" and "Shift"-"]" keys to adjust the
pilot seat ( external viewing angles ). Also... you can use the
"outside-view pull-down tool" on the upper left of the cockpit front
screen ... to mask out the "centerpost graphic" and get an unobstructive
view out the front !

Known Bug: The "Weather Radar" functions on the Peregrine have been activated ...
but there is a little bug - on the Pilot's "EFIS Mode Selector" front panel
control ... if the rectagular "Weather Radar Toggle" button is selected
while the "Display Format Knob" is set to -"Display Format (Approach)" or
"Display Format (Enroute)" ... the display will change to a slightly larger size.

Therefore ... do not use/activate the rectagular "Weather Radar Toggle" button !
The "Display Format Knob" functions work OK without the use of the "Weather Radar
Toggle" button. The problem only appears when the "Weather Radar Toggle" button
is selected/activated.

The copilot's side seems to work fine if you selected/activate the "Weather Radar
Toggle" button.

=================================================================================

Removal:

1. Delete the *.PNL files from the "Drive Letter: ...\Fly! II\data" folder.

2. Delete the *.ACT and *.PBM files from the "Drive Letter: ...\Fly! II\Art"
folder.

=================================================================================
Usage:

For private and distribution use only. Not intended for sale or commercial
application. Use at your own risk, author is not responsible for any machine
or software damages that may arise as the result of this add-on.

Please feel free to learn and improve on this work. Given my limited tools
and artistic talents ... this is the best that I have been able to generate
so far. I encourage others to use the files and ideas presented in this
add-on to generate even better cockpit visuals.

=================================================================================
Credits:

First ... a thanks to TRI for providing an open environment ( for Fly II) ...
this gave me the ability to modify files and be able to generate this add-on.

Second ... to Matt Naragon ... author of - King Air "Cockpit Conversion" for use
with Fly!II" - His add-on provided me with the ideas used in my work. I have
incorporated the GPS radio which is part of the ka2cconvert.zip install.

And last ... to avsim for providing the forums and library facilities ...
enabling the sim community to share ideas and enhance the sim experience.
Please post any comments or ideas regarding this add-on in the avsim forums ...

Regards ... and hope that you will enjoy this add-on to FLy II !
